JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) adalah format data yang digunakan untuk pertukaran data antar aplikasi. JSON sering digunakan sebagai format data untuk REST API, database NoSQL, dan pengaturan konfigurasi aplikasi.
Python menyediakan modul json yang memungkinkan kita untuk mengubah data dari format JSON ke dalam format Python dictionary atau sebaliknya. Dalam modul json, terdapat tiga fungsi utama yaitu json.loads(), json.dumps(), dan json.dump().
1. json.loads()
Fungsi json.loads() digunakan untuk mengubah data JSON menjadi dictionary Python. Fungsi ini menerima satu parameter yaitu string JSON dan mengembalikan sebuah dictionary. Contoh penggunaannya adalah sebagai berikut:

2. json.dumps()
Fungsi json.dumps() digunakan untuk mengubah dictionary Python menjadi string JSON. Fungsi ini menerima satu parameter yaitu dictionary Python dan mengembalikan sebuah string JSON. Contoh penggunaannya adalah sebagai berikut:

3. json.dump()
Fungsi json.dump() digunakan untuk menulis data JSON ke dalam sebuah file. Fungsi ini menerima dua parameter yaitu dictionary Python yang akan ditulis dan file yang akan ditulis. Contoh penggunaannya adalah sebagai berikut:
Program di atas akan menulis data dictionary data_dict ke dalam file data.json dalam format JSON.
